Industrial Fabric Quoted Against Your Specification
Heavy canvas, coated fabric and technical cloth for civil works, environmental containment, covers and converter supply. In this market, a general datasheet may not be enough — project specifications can define particular performance values and test methods that the proposed fabric needs to address.
Start With the Project Specification
Terms such as “high tensile strength” or “tear resistant” are not always enough for an engineering project. A specification may define the required value, test method and acceptance criteria, and the fabric needs to be evaluated against the methods relevant to that application.
Yi Chun can review the specification before development and identify which requirements can be supported by existing test data and which may require additional testing. This helps align the fabric construction and testing scope with the project before sampling or approval.
Built for Different Industrial Conditions
- Ground & Containment Applications — Fabrics for ground protection, spill containment, separation or stockpile covering, where requirements may include tensile and tear strength, puncture resistance, weather exposure and chemical resistance.
- Converter & Fabrication Supply — Coated or semi-finished fabric supplied for further cutting, welding or fabrication, with construction, finishing and roll specifications developed around downstream processing requirements.
- Covers & Enclosures — Coated or semi-finished fabric supplied for further cutting, welding or fabrication, with construction, finishing and roll specifications developed around downstream processing requirements.
One Specification Can Pull the Fabric in Different Directions
Industrial and civil engineering fabrics are rarely selected on one performance value alone. Increasing tensile or puncture resistance may affect weight and flexibility, while coating choices can influence weather resistance, chemical resistance and downstream welding or fabrication.
The appropriate construction therefore depends on which properties are critical to the finished application. Base fabric, weave, coating and finishing can be adjusted around the project specification rather than maximizing one value in isolation.
Testing Follows the Application
Test requirements depend on the finished application, target market and project specification. For geotextile and civil engineering applications, specifications may reference ASTM geotextile test methods, the AS 3706 series in Australia or AASHTO M288 requirements in the United States.
Depending on the project, testing may cover properties such as tensile strength, tear resistance, puncture resistance, apparent opening size and resistance to weathering. Yi Chun can review the required methods against the proposed fabric construction and identify which test data is available or where additional testing may be needed.
Send us the specification. We will come back with the construction, the test data behind it, and available roll widths.
